Why well-groomed men are more successful.

Have you ever noticed that attractive guys tend to make more money? The people who get promotions and raises before you tend to have well-manicured beards, dress a little snazzier, and get all of the good things in life?

It’s not a coincidence. Well-groomed guys actually are more successful, and today we’re going to explain how and why in full detail.

Are they more successful?

Let’s not land on assumptions. As a grooming company, we look into this kind of thing, and we’ve found definitive scientific research that shows that grooming can improve your income.

Look at this study conducted by the University of Chicago and UC Irvine. It showed that men who groom regularly make an average of $14,000 more each year than other men in the same job positions. Put another way, they make roughly 20 percent more, just by staying on top of the grooming.

That might sound surprising, but what if we rephrase the whole thing? Attractive people make more money for doing the same work.

Does that sound about right?

Well, grooming makes people more attractive, and not just because of the aesthetics. Let’s peel back these layers to understand what is really happening and how buying a good trimmer can be a legitimate investment in your financial future.

Why?

Ok, we know that being more attractive helps you make more money. That part seems pretty obvious. Studies have shown that people in charge of hiring are more likely to hire an attractive person or offer them a better compensation package. This won't always be the case, but it very likely happens at least some of the time.

There’s a little more to it than just that, though. Attractive people tend to be better at networking, since everyone wants to talk to the hot guy. They also tend to do better with sales and all of the social aspects of work. Because of all of that, attractive people get promotions faster, bigger raises more often, more bonuses, and all of that jazz.

But, that still leaves a big question.

Why is grooming so important? Why does grooming make people so much more attractive?

We have the answers, and it turns out that it’s only a little bit about looking more visually appealing. Most of the attractiveness is actually under the hood.

Confidence

It starts with confidence. Consider your beard as an easy example. You let your beard grow completely ungroomed for a couple of weeks. It’s filling in, but it’s also all over the place. You probably even make jokes about how you look like a lumberjack who was raised by wolves.

So, you take a trimmer and clean up the beard. You still have a beard, but when you look in the mirror, you can see the order that you added to what was a facial hair mess. You see the difference from your grooming.

That’s actually the secret to the whole thing. When you can notice that your grooming makes you look even a small amount better, you win a psychological war with yourself.

Whether you’re struggling with self-confidence or a full-blown narcissist, it doesn’t matter. You still notice when grooming makes a difference in the mirror.

As a result, you get more confidence, and that’s the real secret to attractiveness. Sure, a nice beard can look good on a guy; it can even hide a weak jawline or the fact that you went too hard on the holiday treats. But, it isn’t really transforming how you look.

The real transformation is that even a small increase in your self-perception translates into confidence. You walk with a little more surety in your step. You’re a little more outgoing and fun to be around. It doesn’t have to be a day and night kind of a difference. Even small changes add up over time.

To summarize, grooming makes you more confident, and confidence is sexy. We all know it, and that sexiness can make you some serious money, regardless of the age of your profession.

First impressions

Here’s another reason why grooming is good for your income. First impressions.

You’re a professional, so you can reason through some of this pretty easily, but let’s spell it out.

You conduct interviews all day. You don’t actually get a lot to go on when you have to choose from one prospective hire to the next. Everyone dresses up their resumes. Everyone practices saying the right things. So, you turn to your impressions. Who really stood out through the day and why?

Some of that will have nothing to do with grooming, but at least on some level, you’re going to remember who looked put together. Who had the better outfit? The shinier shoes? The cleaner beard lines?

You notice those things because they are indicative of consistent effort. If people take care of their workplace the same way they take care of themselves, then you really do want to hire the most put together interviewees. Now, that’s not always a fair projection and the right way to do things, but the simple fact is that people do think this way. Just check out this study.

Now, that’s not always a fair projection and the right way to do things, but the simple fact is that people do think this way. First impressions do matter, and grooming gives you a small edge in that regard. If your first impressions are consistently improved, then you’re not wasting time and energy overcoming them. Instead, your first impressions are a springboard, and your career advances faster as a result.

Comfort

Confidence is the real secret. First impressions matter.

Comfort is the hidden secret.

When you groom well, it makes you more comfortable. Now, a lot of guys get this wrong. They might constantly be fighting razor burn, itchiness, and other issues with grooming. We would call that grooming poorly.

When you groom well, you’re controlling your body hair to your own benefit. Half the motivation should be comfort. You should find a beard style that doesn’t leave your face red and splotchy and feeling like sandpaper.

More importantly, you should manage hair on other parts of your body so that you are more comfortable.

Let’s just say it. Pubic hair sucks. No one likes to sit on their own groin hair. It pulls and tugs and doesn’t feel good. Those curly, wiry suckers can poke and itch a lot, too. They tend to collect the worst kinds of human odor, and they can trap heat and make you miserable.

Trim ‘em down to size. Find a style that feels good over anything else. Once you do, you’ll find a different spring in your step, and you’ll be able to spot other male groomers at a glance.

How does this help you be more successful?

You’d be surprised how often you’re distracted by the pointless discomfort of unmanaged pubic hair. It’s unnecessary, and once you get it under control, you’ll find that you feel better, are frequently in an improved mood, and are better suited to tackle your professional life. When you feel better, it’s easy to be better, and that helps at work.

How can you be one of these successful, well-groomed men?

Now that you’re fully convinced of the merits of better grooming, let’s talk business. How do you pull it off?

We’re going to give you a quick breakdown of the essentials. Take these lessons to heart, and you can be in that group of attractive men who outearn everyone else.

Trim the unseen

the lawn mower 4.0

This is all about comfort. We just spend all of that time talking about managing pubic hair and such. So, how do you do it?

Grab The Lawn Mower® 4.0. Use the longest trimming settings, and trim all of your pubic hair. From that point, stop and see how it feels. If you want to go shorter, that’s fine, but you don’t have to. Just this much will help with most of the issues of long pubic hair.

You can repeat this across any hairy part of your body. If the body hair annoys you, trim it into submission. That’s all it takes.

Manage your beard

Managing your beard is more about aesthetics and first impressions. We mentioned before that you need to find a beard style that is good for your face. Once you do, you want to use The Beard Hedger™ to actually do the styling. It’s our brand-new beard trimmer, and it will make facial hair management simple and easy.

Keep in mind that straight lines are worth a lot when it comes to first impressions. Wherever you decide your beard should stop growing, make sure it stops in a straight line. The Beard Hedger™ is good at this, so it’s just a matter of remembering to do the thing.

Take care of your skin

Taking care of your skin is great for both comfort and confidence. Dry skin gets itchy. Healthy skin looks more attractive. It’s a win-win.

Maintaining healthy skin doesn’t have to be a cumbersome process. Start with a good body wash in the shower. Our Ultra Premium™ Body Wash is a perfect example. It’s designed to promote healthy skin.

You can add our Hydrating Body Spray to use as a pick me up if you’re ever feeling extra dry or put out. Use lotion at least once a day, and you’re in good shape. You’ll be clean. Your skin will be moisturized, and you’ll feel the difference.

While you’re at it, don’t forget your Lip Balm. Lips need love, too.

Know you smell great

This last one is all about confidence. Have you ever been in a situation where you can kind of start to smell your own sweaty balls, and then you wonder if it’s obvious to anyone else?

We’ve all been there, and we have some bad news for you. It is in fact obvious to everyone else. They’re just too polite to say it.

So, avoid that situation altogether. Grab your favorite ball deodorant, Crop Preserver®, and ensure that you’ll never have to live through that scenario again. While you’re at it, Foot Duster® will take care of your feet.

Knowing that you smell great is amazing for your own personal swagger, and it definitely translates to the kind of attractiveness that will make you more successful.
