How to choose the best nose hair trimmer.

Sometimes, it’s best to be blunt, so here we go.

Have you noticed how long your nose hair is getting?

In some cases that might be embarrassing, but we’re not here to judge. We’re here to help.

You want to keep your nose hair under control and to do that, you need a good trimmer. How do you choose the best nose hair trimmer?

We’re glad you asked! There’s a handy little guide below here. Just keep scrolling.

You need a clean cut.

It’s a trimmer, so the first thing that comes to mind is cutting hair. It’s easy to say that your nose hair trimmer should be able to cut your nose hairs, but that’s a higher bar than you might think. Sure, any trimmer will cut at least some hair to some degree, but this really is the first metric that separates trimmers into different categories.

Let’s talk about how trimmers tackle cutting in different ways.

First, you have the blade material. Most nose hair trimmers will use some kind of steel for the blade, but not all steel is equal. You want the hardest steel you can get in your trimmer, because it will hold an edge longer and cut nose hairs with less effort.

Then there’s the blade type. For your nose, you want a rotating blade. Simply put, hairs grow from every direction in your nostrils. A rotating blade can get to all of the hairs without forcing you to twist and bend the trimmer in all different directions. This aspect of cutting should be automated through the use of a rotating blade head.

There’s also shape. Naturally, you want a trimming blade that fits inside your nostrils. You also want something at the right angle. This is something that really puts the Weed Whacker® 2.0 above the cut (pun intended). It’s angled to match the natural angle of most noses, making it that much easier to do your trimming.

Lastly, you want to think about cutting speed. These are motorized trimmers. How fast does the motor rotate? In general, faster is better.  Weed Whacker blade head

Why?

Why do you care about these different aspects of a blade and how a trimmer cuts? Some points are self-evident, but overall, the way the trimmer cuts is going to impact how long it takes to trim, the comfort you feel during and after trimming, the efficacy of the trim, and safety throughout.

Let’s break these concepts down a little further.

Get comfortable.

If your blade isn’t sharp enough, it will pull hairs out of your nose instead of cutting them. As you might imagine, that doesn’t feel very good. Similarly, a slow rotation speed can lead to more pulling and tugging. You can avoid these problems pretty easily with a good trimmer.

Go fast.

Do you want to spend hours at a time trimming your nose hair? Or do you want this to be a short and simple task?

If you picked door number two, then a fast-rotating blade with a sharp edge is the only real option.

Be efficient.

This goes hand in hand with comfort. If the blade can’t readily cut your nose hair, it might pull a bunch out. It also might leave a bunch of hair uncut, which defeats the whole purpose. Blades that cut for speed and comfort succeed because they’re better at cutting hair in the first place.

Be safe.

Ultimately, it all comes back to safety. The angle of the Weed Whacker® 2.0 makes it easier to use the trimmer in a safe manner. Well-designed blades are less likely to create safety hazards. Plus, you can go all out and get some bonus safety features, like SkinSafe® technology.

But don’t cut it too short.

There’s one other component to think about when it comes to picking a trimmer by its blade design.

You have nose hair for a reason.

Yeah, we get it. We spend all of this time talking about trimming hair and now we’re saying that maybe the hair shouldn’t go away? What can we say except that life is about balance.

Speaking as hair nerds for a moment, the hair inside your nose serves an important function. It actually catches dirt and debris that try to go up your nose. This keeps your sinuses clear, and that’s pretty important. If you wax your nose completely, you won’t have that trapping function and you’ll find that your sinuses get irritated a lot more. So you actually want some hair in your nostrils.

On the other hand, nose hair is itchy, tickly, and can be quite gross.

Fortunately, you can have the best of both worlds. A good nose hair trimmer is designed to shorten nasal hairs without removing them completely. In fact, they should be scientifically engineered around this concept (Can you guess which trimmer fits this mold?) to ensure that you get the comfort of a trim and the biological functionality of nose hair when you’re done.

It should be highly useable.

That’s a lot of talk about blades, and it makes sense that they dominate the conversation, but there are other aspects to a trimmer. You want to be able to control and use your trimmer freely.

One aspect of this is ergonomics. A well-designed grip gives you literal control over the device so you can trim deftly, even if you’re a little groggy or you're trimming in weird conditions (like maybe the trimmer is wet).

Something else that helps is a cordless design. Cords are a hassle and get in the way when you’re trimming. You don’t need that.

But if your trimmer is cordless, you need a good battery life. To give you a benchmark, the Weed Whacker® 2.0 can trim for 45 minutes, continuously, on a full battery. That’s a lot of nasal trimming.

It should make life easy.

Here’s the bottom line: The best trimmer is the one you actually use. So make sure it has the design elements and features that matter the most to you.

A few to consider are:

  • Waterproof
  • Portable design
  • Minimal maintenance
  • Easy blade replacement

These are quality-of-life features that eliminate some of the things that might convince you not to trim.

And, as you no doubt have guessed, the Weed Whacker® 2.0 shines in these respects too. It was designed from the ground up to be safe, easy to use, comfortable, and convenient. Get one today!
